We were pleased to have our friends Justine Curgenven and Seth Albanese join us for the Cape Scott leg. Seth peeled off after 6 days in Winter Harbor and we missed him after he left as he was great to travel with and made sure we had our coffee as soon as we got out of the tent in the morning - thanks Seth it was a pleasure! Justine carried on around the Brooks with us, it was awesome traveling with her again - we love her incredible energy and passion for the sea and expeditioning (read Justine's post about that trip). Justine - we hope you made it home okay and are having fun at your sister's wedding, we miss you!
Speaking of weddings...guess what Leon did after rounding Cape Scott? We landed on the beach and he talked me into going on the hike to the Cape Scott light house, and there he pulled out a ring and shyly asked me if I would marry him! There was no hesitation in my mind! I was surprised and thrilled - so it is official now...Leon and I are engaged! This has been a trip of a lifetime. Romantic, challenging, and beauty everywhere you look. Vancouver Island is incredible.
We are on the home stretch now....leaving tomorrow for the Broken Group and then into Juan de Fuca Straight. We hope to be home by September 6th with more stories, pictures, and paintings to share.
